1986
Established under Trivandrum Kendra, thriving in serene campus at Kodunganoor
AN ADVENTURE IN FAITH
Founded on November 7, 1938, by Kulapati Dr. K. M. Munshi with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan stands as an ever-growing, voluntary, apolitical national and global movement devoted to life, literature, and culture.
The Thiruvananthapuram Kendra was established in 1986 under the illustrious helmsmanship of the late Sri. Sooranad Kunjanpillai and Secretary Sri. S.M. Radhakrishnan Nair. In 1987, the temple of education commenced with approximately 60 students at Chettikulangara.
Under the leadership of Sri. Anantha Krishnan IAS (Retd) as Chairman & Prof. P. Gopalaraman as Secretary, the school relocated through Vazhuthacaud and Vellayambalam to its own permanent campus at Kodunganoor. Today, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor houses thousands of students from LKG to Class XII under CBSE, offering modern smart classrooms, advanced science and computer labs, auditorium, KG Turf, and dedicated sports facilities.
OUR JOURNEY & CAMPUS FOR DISCOVERY
Tracing our growth from 1986 to a premier CBSE Senior Secondary institution in Thiruvananthapuram.
Origins at Chettikulangara
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan gained roots in Thiruvananthapuram in 1986 under Sri. Sooranad Kunjanpillai and Sri. S.M. Radhakrishnan Nair. Commencing in 1987 with 60 students at Chettikulangara, the school was founded on Kulapati Dr. K. M. Munshi's ideals of value-rooted holistic education, rapidly earning respect for discipline, culture, and academic dedication.
Expansion at Kodunganoor
Moving to its own permanent spacious campus at Kodunganoor, the school overcame early challenges under Sri. P.N. Nair I.F.S. (Retd) and Sri. P. Gopalaraman. Today, the school encompasses comprehensive facilities, smart classrooms, science & IT laboratories, auditorium, and KG turf, offering Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams with 100% board results.
A Sanctuary of Nature & Learning
Set amid tranquil green environs in Kodunganoor, Vattiyoorkavu, our campus is designed as an inspiring natural environment for scientific inquiry, athletic vitality, and cultural blossom.
